PROLOGUE.


Praise be to God, the All-knowing, the All-wise, the Bestower of subtle understandings upon he whom He desires good for, and May His Peace and Blessings be upon our master Muhammad, the citadel of knowledge and the apportioner of the grand gifts of the Divine, and upon his family, his companions and all those who follow his way until the Day of Judgment.The secret of the strength of the adherents of Islam and their success, victory and felicity in the two abodes is concealed in the strength of their connection with God, mighty and exalted be He, as well as their sincere desire to ascend the ranks of divine proximity, preferring Him over other than Him, utter dependence and reliance upon Him, entrusting and trusting in Him alongside acting in accordance with the Sacred Law.However, none of this can be realised without a profound understanding of the religion of God, purification of the hearts for the sake of God, comprehension of the divine communiqué, and therby realised through the unification of the community, serving humanity and desiring good for creation.


THE PROGRAM.


And as a means of contributing to the achievement and attainment of the aforementioned the 11th Summer School will be held at Dar al-Mostafa in the year 1426 from 25th Jumada al-Ula/2nd July until Thursday, 5th Rajab/10th August.


Students who are accepted onto the program will be afforded the opportunity to experience:



• Living in an iman based environment

• Brotherhood for the sake of Allah

• Acting in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of God

• Purification of the inner-self

• Mutual acquaintance, friendship and assistance

• Mutual consultation in truth and patience


Both brothers and sisters are welcome to register for the program, although the viability of the sisters program is subject to the number of applicants.

• Sincerity for the sake of God, the Mighty the Sublime

• High aspiration and sincere resolve.


THE FEE.


The cost of the course for the entire 40-day period will be $650 excluding travel and visa costs. The fee will include;


• Tuition

• Texts

• Accommodation

• Food

• Cost of all internal trips within Hadramaut

• Cost of Visa extension for the duration of the program

THE CURRICULUM.

Students will study the following subjects;


• Qur’anic Studies.

• Prophetic Traditions

• Spiritual Wayfaring

• Ideology

• Sira

• Islamic Jurisprudence


The following acts of worship will be enjoined on all students:


• Maintaining the five congregational prayers

• The Witr Prayer
• The Rawatib

• The Duha Prayer

• The Night Vigil Prayer

• Seeking Forgiveness in the last portion of the night


COURSE TRIPS.


Students will be afforded the opportunity to become acquainted with the scholars and notables of Tarim, and the general places of significance as well as the historical and spiritual landmarks within the blessed valley of Hadramaut. Such visits are viewed as an integral part of the course and will serve to enhance the profound spiritual and cultural experience, as testified to by past students. The sites that students are scheduled to visit will in sha’ Allah include’


• Hud, The Prophet of God.

• The Zambal

• Al-Muhajir Ahmad bin ‘Isa

• A Historical tour of Tarim

• Visits to some of the scholars and notables of Tarim


TRAVEL AND VISAS.


All students will have to apply for a tourist visa from their ‘local’ Yemeni embassy. For students traveling from the UK both the visa authorisation as well as actual acquisition of the visa will be organised by the Dar al-Mostafa representative situated there. Students who are not from the UK will be required to organise their own visas. Where a letter of authorisation for the issuing of the visa is needed students are strongly advised to notify the course organiser at least 4 (four) weeks prior to the date of departure.

It is highly recommended that all students co-ordinate their travel arrangements with the course organiser in Tarim. Those traveling via the UK will have the travel arrangements organised by the Dar al-Mostafa representative in the UK. Further details will be given once students have received an official letter of acceptance on the course.

The provisional travel details will be sent to students on registration.

THE PROCEDURE.

The deadline for Dar al-Mostafa to receive fees (non-refundable deposit) and application forms is Friday, 3rd June, 2005. All eligible (see pre-requisites) students are required to complete the following in order to have their application accepted;

• Fill in the online application for on www.badr.org.uk
• Email a colour copy of their passport. (The information/picture page as well as the visa stamps to any of the following countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel)
• Arrange a Western Union money transfer of a non-refundable deposit of $250.

Students will be given the option of paying the remainder of the their fees either in the same money transfer as the deposit or on immediately on arrival. It should be noted that the cost of the course excludes visa and travel costs. Students who opt to travel to Tarim in the ‘official’ group will be obliged to send a fee of 550 UK pounds to the UK representative to cover the costs of visas and travel to and from Tarim.

He who desires power (should know that) all power belongs to Allah (35:10)

But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger and the believers. (63:8)

Allah is sufficient for the man who puts his trust in Him. He will surely bring about what He decrees. He has set a measure for all things.( 65:3)

And may God bestow peace upon His servant, the Chosen One, the Trustworthy, His beloved our master Muhammad and upon his family, companions and followers and Praise is due God, the Lord of the worlds.
